Globalization at the Margins
( Series organizers: Richard Grant and John Rennie
Short )
Time 3 p. m. Fridays, in 341 Eggers Hall (unless
otherwise
noted)
The Global Affairs Institute (GAI) of the Maxwell School of Citizenship
and Public
Affairs (Syracuse University) is facilitating a series of talks,
Globalization at the Margins for Fall 1998 and Spring 1999. In this
Symposium speakers will
explore the current hot topic of globalization which has become one of
the key debates on Wall Street, Main Street and among social scientists.
The particular emphasis in this series will be on the notion of the
"margins" and understanding how marginalized areas fit into the
globalization
thesis.
The series of presentations extend the debate on globalization beyond the
American and European context and offers a range of speakers who
are experts on specific parts of the world.
