For attention of all PhD students and supervisors:
AISB'99 Doctoral Consortium: Call for Participation
**NOTE: Attendance at the Doctoral Consortium will entitle you to
sample sessions from other symposia in free periods.
The fields of Artificial Intelligence and the Simulation of Behaviour are
broad, covering a range of theoretical approaches and practical techniques.
The AISB Doctoral Consortium is a forum for students from all branches of
AI and Cognitive Science to present their research and receive constructive
feedback. It will also provide an opportunity for students to meet and
compare notes with peers from other institutions. As such, it helps to
build the field.
The number of papers accepted for this workshop will be restricted to allow
sufficient time for presentations and discussion. A panel of established
researchers will be invited to attend and give feedback on presentations.
Full papers will be published in the workshop proceedings.
As well as technical presentations, there will be short sessions on general
PhD survival techniques and (of course!) social time for informal
discussion and relaxation.
In addition to a two-page abstract, submissions should include a personal
statement indicating what stage of your research you are at, what you hope
to get out of the Doctoral Consortium, what PhD survival topics you would
like to see covered, and (for co-ordination purposes) whether you are
hoping to attend any other AISB99 symposia.
