Department of French and Italian
The Department of French and Italian invites applications for
one, three-year full-time Italian lecturer position beginning
Fall 1999. Duties: Teach first- and second-year Italian language
courses. Preference: Ph.D. in language education, demonstrated
enthusiasm in language teaching, conversant with recent findings
in second language acquisition research, experience in teaching
more than one level of Italian, and ability in utilizing the
latest technologies in language instruction. Minimum
qualifications: M.A. (ABD, Ph.D. preferred) in Italian with an
emphasis on language acquisition or a closely related area.
Excellent oral and written skills in Italian and English. Salary
range from $34,000 for nine courses. Please send a letter of
