RE : PARTNERS IN POLICY MAKING
Donna Reeve suggested that I contacted you because you might be able to
publicise the above course through the disability network.
Partners is a course which aims to empower disabled people and parents of school
aged children with special needs to contribute to policy making and achieve
systems change .
It is funded by the Department of Health and the Cadbury Barrow Trust and so
there is no cost. Funding for supports e.g. personal assistance, child care,
interpreter and travel costs may also be available.
The course has been run successfully in the North of England and the first
Bristol based course is just reaching completion. The next Bristol based course,
which is being run by Circles Network, is due to commence on 23rd October 1998.
There are still places available and I would really appreciate any help that you
might be able to give us to recruit more people.
Yours sincerely,
Sheena Jones,
Course Co-ordinator.
Mandy Neville
