if you wanted to do something like the above, you could try
existential phenomenology, [merleau-ponty], where the idea is to
find out what existential meaning or project [way of existing]
renders a phenomena intelligable. this involves a dialectic between
the ontic, descriptive and the ontological.
i'm having a go at this at present, in order to study how
stakeholders at an educational institution deal with the introduction
of a hi-tech learning resources centre. i'm using ATLAS/ti to carry
out a slightly modified grounded theory analysis of interview data,
where i'm viewing 'theoretical coding' as a vehicle for the
ontological aspect, and 'substantive coding' as a vehicle for the
ontic aspect. [its an experiment by the way, i only hope it works]
