OK you guys. You saw it here first.
I wish to claim a new clinical sign. We can decide what to call it later,
but I'm sure you all recognise it.
Little old ladies etc have absolutely pristine little cars; Nissan Micras,
Metros etc. These cars travel about 4 miles a year and spend the rest of
the time in garages. However, there comes a time when the once-pristine
car starts to lose ends of bumpers, get little scrapes down the sides and
ends and generally looks a bit woebegone.
I suggest that this sign represents an impending catastrophe; for example
the cataract has finally fogged up too much, the reflexes just a bit too
slow.
I have no proof as yet, but I think that GPs should inspect their surgery
car parks and assess those with the suddenly scruffy cars very carefully.
How do we best investigate this? ;-)
Best wishes,
Rowley Cottingham

Look, it's easy. Does your proposal help my patient? If it does, then I
shall embrace it with all my heart. If it does not, go away and find
another proposal.
