Can DC. Format be a URL?
Most on-line resources (that I see) are combinations of text, iconography and
individual images. Large (frameless) sites use repeated icons in order to
build familiar navigation patterns.
It would seem like a waste of space and time to repeat the icon/image formats
for every screen in which they are used - particularly when there are five or
six on each screen. Easier to list all repeated icons with their formats,
widths heights and byte sizes; and then point to a URL. Ditto for animated gifs
and sounds.

What are your thoughts on this practice?
