I am also interested in how Liz is getting on - and to balance the notion
that Winmax is not much used, actually Winmax and its predecssors has been
quite widely used in Germany for some years, and its demo version is also
available -
and it is also now getting quite a foothold in the UK.
It is also one of the easiest to pick up - whilst having many of the complex
and powerful theory building tools which are incorporated in ATLAS/ti and
NUDIST. Its chief advantages in my view are its user friendliness, its
slick retrieval, and an almost unique flexibility in the way the user is
allowed to change the SORT order of coded retrieval and output reports, the
functionality of the code hierarchy, and the on-screen margin display of
coding in the text (from which codes can be deleted in the text if necessary).
cheers
