Barrett,
I very much like your essay, "What Do You Think You're Doing?" -
http://qin.com/dorko/articles/doing.htm
It shows that one can make an important clinical point with clarity and
brevity while remaining accessible, respectful, and humorous. I
especially like the last line. I suspect that Mr. Ceresi was not well
versed in the interactive skills his profession demands. He did not
make use of the power of gentle, humanistic, self-critical, seemingly
all-accepting persuasion that we on the PT lists frequently encounter
when a "touching art" technique is questioned on the basis of logic and
its relation to intent. Would that he had; perhaps then you would not
now continually find yourself at odds with impalpable belief systems.
