Tony Barry and others jumped to the defense of "collation" as a term to
denote ordering or sorting sequence definitions.
Well, my initial critical remarks would not have been written had there
been a single mentioning of this term in the UNICODE documentation.
Instead, "sorting" is used there throughout.
And in the world of cataloging (not the smallest potential application
area for Unicode), "collation" has come to be used for something entirely
different, and AACR like the German code nowhere uses it with any reference
to sorting. (Earlier codes may have used it, but then that's history.)
Again: Unicode authorities, make "collation" official or drop it.
