I am a final year Physiotherapy student at Keele University, UK. and have
just completed a dissertation about Dupuytren's disease. In response to your
question about a genetic link, there is literature that infers an autosomal
dominant link. To the best of my knowledge there is no accurate indicator of
how your condition will progress, but there are a great many other factors
which are linked with Dupuytren's i.e. epilepsy, diabetes, smoking, alcohol
to name a few, and these factors can be linked with more aggressive disease
progression. If you require further info about this, I will be only too happy
to forward it.
