Hi,
I'm not an expert in these things but I always thought that tennis
elbow was actually a problem at the tendo-periosteal junction caused
by overuse of the wrist extensors not a problem with the elbow joint
itself. If it is the joint that is actually inflammed then I would
suggest that it is not tennis elbow.
If it is tennis elbow, the suggestion that the patient is gripping
the arm rest too tightly would seem the most logical explanation to
me.
