As one of the ways - try iconographic indexes, the one of Louis Reau
(three volumes on the iconography of saints) gives the
chronological lists of images (with the description of content) for
almost each saint and each iconographic sujet. You will probably find
there when dove appears in the iconography of S. Agnes.
Unfortunately, at the moment I can't check it myself.
Concerning birds and rings, it is noticeable that while St. Agnes
receives the ring indicating her heavenly marriage, St. Ida of
Toggenburg (13th c.), previously married, is deprived of her
betrothal ring which is carried away by raven.
And about Easter: the Budapest Airport Magazine, teaching its reader
what Hungarian Easter is, mentions with a bit of surprise a kind
of a strange coincidence, namely, that the Jewish Passover occurs
exactly at a time when the whole world is celebrating Easter (!?).
And then the article goes on saying that the ancient Hungarian custom
of eating eggs, hala and smoked pork is a continuation of the OT
tradition... No comments.
Best to all,
