Dear Doctor,
There are 105 elements in the periodic table which most of us studied in
our chemistry classes at school with no thought as to how important
they might prove to be for human nutrition. My interest was rekindled
many years later after becoming interested in nutrition and reading
several research papers on the antioxidant properties of trace
minerals. Research is now revealing that most, if not all of these
elements are needed by the body for essential biochemical processes
that protect our cells, help cellular development, protect our
arteries from oxidative damage that causes artherosclerosis, and
inhibit many of the steps prior to the development of cancers.
There is overwhelming evidence that mineral deficiencies are responsible
for a large proportion of our chronic diseases, such as Ischaemic
heart disease, osteoarthritis, hypertension, cerebrovascular disease,
Type II Diabetes, and cancer.
Dr Steven Whiting, an orthomolecular Chemist with 20 years experience
in Clinical Nutrition, is in the UK for a limited period talking on
the importance of Full Spectrum Nutrition and its effect on chronic
diseases.
