I am sending to you the programme of the American Association for Italian
Studies' annual congress, to be held this week care of the host institution,
Loyola University Chicago. Given the length of the programme, I am sending it in
five 'short' messages, so as to make it easier for some of you to read and/or
print.
May I take this opportunity to say that I, for one, am extremely impressed by
this congress, and am envious of those attending and participating. It would not
be a bad thing, in my opinion, for us in the United Kingdom to have such a
general meeting annually (instead of, as presently is the case, every two years).
I obtained this information from the Congress web pages, at:

PS: Many thanks to Bart Van Den Bossche for posting news of the wonderful Leuven
conference, "L'italiano oltre frontiera"; it would be wonderful if more of us
would post to the italian-studies list any relevant calls for papers and
conference programmes! -- G
