This is what I do...
Starting from histories and philosophies of the visual I'm trying to
correlate cultural geographical ideas of landscape with
concepts of embodiment, practice and experience. This has so far led me
towards Deleuze & Guttari, Merleau-Ponty and de Certeau amongst others,
and towards a position where I see voyaging, landscape and intersubjective
experience as interrelated practices producing (in different contexts)
different spatial ontologies. This isn't all theory though - I'm hoping to
work some of these ideas out through textual, historical and empirical
examples.
I support Man Utd, and I don't care what Marx would've thought of it
