It is likely that your images are in the correct format for the Intel
series processors which are I think little-endian - Interfile data
acquired from e.g. Picker scanners are also in ths format. So it should
not be necessary to byte-swap the images.
There are two possibilities regarding the generation of an Anaylze
(SPM) compatible header:
i) I could let you have some C code I have written (which you could
compile on your own system) to create a header;
ii) you could use the utility in SPM - display. I think if you have an
image file without a header it will use a default header (for PET
studies). You could simply modify the fields in this then save as your
file header.
Get back to me if you need any help with this.

I'm assuming you're referring to SPM'96 for Windows95. If so refer to
