Some techniques are described in the text described below. I
intend to upgrade it later this year with more about linear
algebra (especially Gaussian Elimination). The current
version is dated October 1997.

Loren Meissner has prepared a draft manuscript, “Fortran 90
& 95 Array and Pointer Techniques: Objects, Data Structures
and Algorithms; with subsets e-LF90 and F”. It covers modern
Fortran based data structures and algorithm analysis,
including facilities provided by Fortran 95. Printed
examples use features of Fortran 95, notably derived type
component initialization, pointer initialization with null,
and pure functions. The 25 major program examples have been
tested in three versions: Fortran 95, F, and e-LF.
As this point, it is considered a draft manuscript, still
under copyright; a limited number of copies are available for
review. For example, an instructor of a Data Structures and
Algorithms course using Fortran could use this material as a
supplement. Any resulting comments would be appreciated.
Postscript and Page Maker 6.5 versions of the manuscript,
along with all three versions of the program examples (and
all examples from essential Fortran 90 & 95), are contained
on a single diskette. Send email with your postal address
