at the University of Brighton

This 1 day workshop is recommended for anyone who is confused about
copyright and copyright law!
Guidance will be given on the following issues:
- How is copyright ownership defined?
- How to avoid infringing copyright
- How to clear copyright
- What is fair-use and what does this really mean for education?
- What are the special copyright issues relating to; electronic
images; photographs; works of art; Internet publishing & databases?
The workshop will also encourage debate and offer an opportunity to
exchange views and opinions with colleagues about copyright and rights
management issues.
This workshop will be of particular interest to two groups:
- Anyone who is involved with creating, managing, using or distributing
electronic images and other information
- Members of the visual arts community who have an interest in the
copyright issues relating to digital images and works of art
This workshop is organised by CTIAD and is in collaboration with (VADS)
the Visual Arts Data Service & (TASI) the Technical Advisory Service for
Images.
