The most recent success story is the Eurostar train service between London
and Paris, and there is some documentation. I believe the Eurostar Web site
has some figures on market share. Of course, the other French TGV lines have
also had great success in reducing short and medium distance air travel,
such as comparing the number of trains versus flights between Paris and
Lyon.
I don't recall the address of the Eurostar web site offhand, but it
shouldn't be too hard to find.
