Manager - Medical and Health Services Research
The Health Reaseach Board is responsible for promoting medical and
health services research in this country. The Board's expenditure in
1998 will £4.9m, of which almost £4m will be spent on grants for medical
and health services research.
The Board wishes to appoint a Manager - Medical and Health Services
Research and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates
The role of the Manager -Medical and Health Services Research will be
to:
- to assist the Board in developing medical and health services
research
- to manage the Board's schemes for the support of medical and
health services research,
- to evaluate the effectiveness of the Board's schemes and
procedures to promote medical and health services
research,
- to increase awareness of research funded and undertaken by
the Board in the media, in research
institutions and among policy makers generally.
The successful candidate will have have experience of the management of
research or related projects. He or she will have a post graduate
qualification, preferably in a scientific or health related subject. He
or she will have excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to
develop the potential in this country for medical and health services
research. Computer literacy is required.
The post is a permanent one and salary will be in the region of £30,000
depending on qualifications and experience. Further particulars
