Hello everyone.
I'm new to the list and I've got a proposition for anyone who would like to
participate. I am currently a communications student at the University of
Central Florida in Orlando, FL USA. I'm posing questions to residents
outside of the United States regarding their use and or perceptions of
media in their respective nations. Any answers submitted would strictly be
used as evidence in a paper for class. It is not necessary to answer all
questions, but please be honest and answer as many as possible. The
questions are as follows:
[General Questions]
1. What is your name?
2. What is your education level?
3. In what country do you currently reside? How long have you lived in
this nation?
4. Are you a professional in the broadcasting industry?
[Media-Related Questions]
1. What types of media are widely used in your country?
2. Do you use any of these types of media often yourself? If so, which
ones?
3. How does the media, in your perception, affect the society as a whole?
4. How is the media in your country regulated by the government?
5. What do you personally like about the media in your nation?
6. What do you dislike about it?
7. Do you have any favorite programming in particular? If so, please
describe it.
8. Are you familiar with any American programming? If so, what do you
think of it in comparison to that of your own nation's
programming?
9. What is your overall impression of the children's program 'Teletubbies'
(or perhaps a more popular program in your country) in comparison to
American children's programs such as 'Barney' or 'Power Rangers?'
10. What is your overall impression of sexual and or violent content in the
media?
If you would like to reply, please do so by Wednesday evening. I greatly
appreciate any responses.
Thank you for your time.
