Seasonal Greeting to All!
Looking forward to your Christmas break? Of course you are, but, let's be
honest, Christmas Day & Boxing Day may be great but after that it all
begins to pall: the presents are all opened, the very *thought* of alcohol
makes you feel sick, if you have one more mouthful of turkey you swear
you'll become a vegetarian and the family are driving you nuts. What a
great opportunity to sneak off to your study and indulge yourself by
writing an article for the MCG Newsletter. Unlike o so many Xmas gifts, it
is guaranteed to be gratefully received! It can take a variety of forms -
long article, short article, progress report of your museum's ICT-related
activities, web site suggestions for Bookmark, details of career moves for
Onwards and Upwards or maybe something totally new and original. Digital
images particularly welcome. Preferred format is MS Word 97 (or earlier
versions) although most other formats shouldn't be a problem (having said
that please note that I use a PC not a MAC). Max. length is 1,000 words.
The deadline for submitting contributions for the next issue is 12 February
1999. Send your contributions, gift wrapped or otherwise, to myself at -

(Eagle-eyed members will notice that my contact details have changed from
that issued in the last MCG Newsletter. I'm leaving the Science Museum on
Friday, 11 Dec and taking up my new post as Documentation Manager at the
Horniman Museum on 4 Jan. 1999.)
Have a great Christmas - may you eat and drink as much as is humanly
possible - and I'll look forward to hearing from you in the New Year!
