***APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING***
I am a graduate student studying Translation & Interpretation at City
University. Having chosen to focus on Quality Control for the Translation of
Bilingual (printed/electronic) Dictionaries/Thesauruses for my dissertation, I
intend to look at quality in the process of translating (or bilingualising)
these kind of reference books, and therefore what I am also looking for is the
relevant generic quality management/control theories as from the standpoint of
an intellectual production, instead of a hard product, leaving whatever media
of languages to be involved as an unimportant factor to consider.
My another question is: Is TQM applicable in 'ensuring quality "production of
bilingual" (ie in a nutshell "translation") of dictionaries'? If so, how?
I would welcome any ideas or advice from quality control managers and
theorists, and possibly recommendation of useful reading to help form a
theoretical grounding for my research.
My e-mail address is: [log in to unmask]
Many thanks.
