The Institute for Learning and Research Technology, University
of Bristol and the Library Association University College and
Research Group Welsh Section present:
SOCIAL SCIENCE INTERNET ROADSHOW
a FREE event to be held at
University of Glamorgan, Pontypridd
Weds 15 July 1998 10am-4pm
Presenters: Lesly Huxley and Tracey Hooper of the Institute for
Learning and Research Technology, University of Bristol.
The day will consist of a morning seminar with
presentations and demonstrations, including SOSIG, REGARD,
Grapevine and BizEd, followed in the afternoon by hands-on
use of the services and a chance for one-to-one questions
and answers with the presenters. All participants will
receive a free information pack. It is possible to attend just for
the morning or for the whole day.
The day is aimed at library and information services staff and others
with an interest in social sciences and business information.
Participants should have some familiarity with Windows and the web,
and know how to use a web browser such as Netscape.
There is no charge for this event. Morning and afternoon
refreshments will be provided but participants will need to make
their own lunch arrangements.
