Hello out there and apologies for cross posting. At Derby University
we put our videos out on open shelves in special transparent security
cases which have to be opened by library staff when the video comes to
the counter to be borrowed. So far so good. But we have an on-going
problem actually obtaining supplies of these cases, which are produced
by LIFT. There is a UK distributor but the cases themselves are
actually made in Vienna and there seems to be a contstant delay
getting fresh supplies (we're talking at least a year here!) We
would like to continue the practice of keeping our videos on the open
shelves, partly because of lack of space to keep them elsewhere, ease
of browsing for users, prefer to keep them with the books, etc. What
systems, products are other libraries out there using please? Any
replies on what you are using, how satisfactory it is, any problems,
ease of supply and so forth will be gratefully received, and I will
summarise for the lists if the replies warrant it. Please reply
directly to me:
