Assistant Librarian (Cataloguing)
Applications are invited from qualified graduate librarians for the
full-time post of Assistant Librarian (Cataloguing) in the College
Library. The newly relocated Library serves 700 junior and senior
members and many visiting scholars and contains MSS, early
printed books and 50,000 working books and serials.
The post involves the cataloguing and classification of new
acquisitions on the University Library Union Catalogue and on the
Library's own internal OLIB system. The post will also involve
the completion of a reclassification project into Dewey 20. The post
will require experience of working with UKMARC, AACR2 and Dewey.
Basic familiarity with one or more foreign languages will be an asset.
Good team work with the other Library staff (two full-time, one part-time)
will also be important.
Salary on a scale starting in the region of £14,299-£16,927 according
