I have been asked to add metadata to a large established website which
currently has none. There is a considerable amount of information on
metadata on the web as I discovered on reading through the 28 pages of web
sites at the Ifla website at:
http://www.nlc-bnc.ca/ifla/II/metadata.htm
One of the sites listed under 'metadata tools' at Ifla is DC-dot, a Dublin
Core generator which automatically generates Dublin Core HTML meta tags for
any web page you give it details of. This site is at:
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/metadata/dcdot/
Could anyone advise me on whether this is the quickest most effective way
to add metadata to a website or whether there are any other methods I
should use ?
I should add that the Ifla site also lists other metadata tools such as
Reggie, Meta Generator and Meta builder. Any information on the most
effective way to add metadata to a website appreciated.
