Hi:
I am in the planning process to procure GIS software for our
laboratory. Principal applications areas are in natural resource
management.
We have access to both NT and UNIX operating environments. I have
looked at ESRI and MapInfo products, but would like to take a more
systematic approach to selecting a toolkit that would meet our needs.
Could someone please provide information on:
a) A structured approach to selecting GIS tools, available on the Net or
in print.
b) A Web site that has up-to-date links to presently available tools.
Additional information on future directions of GIS tools (e.g., online
mapping and real-time analysis) would be helpful as well.
Please respond to my email address ([log in to unmask]) directly.
Thanks!
Shree Nath
