To Kalumba Denis,
The ultimate tensile strength of geotextile is normally derived from a
uniaxial tensile test such as BS EN ISO 10319, the design strength is then
derived by applying various partial factors to the measured strength. Full
details of the partial factors recommended for the design of reinforced
soils can be found in BS 8006 Reinforced/strengthed Soils. You will also
need some input from the manufacturer of the geosynthetic for the
appropriate partial factors which depend upon the manufacturing process.
