Linda Tripp Takes The Witness Stand

Silence in the courtroom,
Make way for Sweeney Todd,
Mrs Tripp, would you please
Tell the jury the whole truth
And nothing but the truth
So help you God.

I will, I will, Iíll tell you
Things so terrible,
Things that will make you cringe.
Things that will break your heart
And bear the Republican party its revenge.

Things that would fill a dirty book.
A bestseller. Give it a look!
Oh, please buy my filthy book!

Iím not a diabolical snitch!
Please, donít think me unkind.
I have no ax to grind.
Itís all the poor Democrats
Who are deaf, dumb and blind!

I never led anyone on.
I never twisted anyoneís words.
I never entrapped her. Never.
Oh, please think me clever.

Heís an animal. The President.
A wild man who preyed
On this wonderful child again and again.
Heís full of the devilís sin.

How awful, how ungodly he behaved.
She told me of her affair,
She confided in me these secrets.
Monica laid her lovelife bare.

She told me things so terrible,
Things that will make you cringe.
Things that will break your heart
And bear the Republican party its revenge.

Things that would fill a dirty book.
A bestseller. Give it a look!
Oh, please buy my filthy book!

Humorous look at the Clinton scandal---

A book of verse about the Clinton scandal in on the net at Dream Forge, a
zine in Denver, CO

NURSERY RHYME
by Ernest Slyman

Congress is on the Hill,
The President's on the grill,
Can you hear him sizzle?
He's all bone & gristle
and soon they'll nibble
him down to a whistle.
Tweedledee & tweedledum
and here come the tedium.
Congress is on the Hill,
The President on the grill.

Town Meeting

President Clinton's on the run,
come after him rumors spun
so footloose and fancy free
folks in small towns gather ---
strong the urge to tar and feather.

***
News Update

The President told a joke,
the boys at firehouse had a smoke
Grandma Moses had a stroke,
the U.S. Treasury's broke.

***
When Monica Comes To Town

When Monica comes to town
the president's high-jinx fall down.
Lies and rumors confound her,
Reporters come hound her
and controversy surround her.
Up the courthouse steps and down ---
She smote a reporter with a frown.

OH MISS TRIPP THANK YOU FOR THE STING

Oh, Miss Tripp, thank you for the sting.
It's a low game: politics; scandal's the thing
gives public service a bad name.
Though you secretly taped,
there's no shame in hiding a mike in your bag
You're John Wilkes Booth in drag.
