ELÉNA RIVERA was born in Mexico City and spent her childhood in Paris.
Her most recent chapbooks are Wale; or, The Corse (Leave Books, 1995), The
Wait; for Homer's Penelope (EM Press, 1994), and two artists books, Her
Hand (1996) and A Botanist's Dream (1996). She won first prize in the 1998
Stand Magazine International Poetry Competition and was a
poet-in-residence at the Djerassi Foundation in California in 1996. She
currently lives in Providence, RI.
JOHN KINSELLA was born in Western Australia in 1963. He is the author of
over a dozen works of poetry including Full Fathom Five , Syzygy , The
Silo, Erratum/Frame(d), The Radnoti Poems, The Undertow: New & Selected
Poems, Lightning Tree, The Hunt, and Poems 1980-1994. His novel Genre was
published in 1997, while a book of short fiction, Grappling Eros, is due
out late 1998. He has also written plays, including Crop Circles. He was
a By-Fellow of Churchill College in 1997/98, and was recently elected a
Fellow of that College. His work has been or is being translated into many
languages, including French, Portuguese, German, Chinese, and Dutch.
