The idea of "quality" in poetry isn't of course in itself authoritarian,
and "quality control" is in fact what almost all editors and anthologisers
think they're doing (even Andrew Duncan). The trouble is you can't prove it
because there are no predicates to it any more. Which is to say that since
nobody knows what the product is nor what it is meant to do, there is no
way of testing whether it's doing it well or badly or not at all.

Thirty years out of date?!! That's not enough by half. I refuse to take
any poetry seriously which isn't at least 65 years out of date.

What do you mean, "Cambridge", "Mainstream"... I thought we'd dealt with
all that months and months ago.
They have none of these problems in Transylvania, and the weather's better too.
