In issue 87 of the Edinburgh literary magazine Chapman, I published
an article on the current British poetry scene, which is available on
Chapman's Web Site at http://www.compura.com/chapman/ [click on
Current]. In the subsequent issue of Chapman, which has just appeared,
the editor announces that a future issue will be devoted to responses to
that article, and asks for readers' contributions to the discussion
(maximum length 1,000 words unless by prior arrangement with the
editor.)
I thought that the British Poets list might be a good place to call
attention to this request for commentary. I should add that I am not
sending this email officially on behalf of the magazine, with which I
have no connection except as a contributor, and I will have nothing to
do with choosing which responses are published. My motivation is to try
to drum up as much response as possible.
So if any of you might be interested in this piece, and possibly in
seeing your name in print in relation to it, please look at that
article either on line at the above URL or in the magazine itself if you
have access to a copy -- the two versions are identical. If you have
any questions or need more information, please see the magazine's Web
page or contact the editor (post and email addresses are given on their
page) -- I have no further information on this myself other than what I
am giving in this email.
And if anyone having read that article wants to initiate some
discussion of it on this list, I would welcome it. I am sure that the
immediate reaction to it of at least some of you will be an intense urge
to ask me just who do I think I am, so you might as well indulge it.
