Applications are invited for the Junior Judith E. Wilson Visiting
Fellowship for the period October 1998 to June 1999. Applicants should
normally be under the age of thirty-five. Applications are invited from
poets, playwrights and theatre practitioners at an early stage in their
careers who would like the opportunity to develop their work and to
interact with students and academics in the Faculty of English.
The Junior Visiting Fellowship is for two or three University terms, with a
salary of £6 000 per term and affiliation to a College in Cambridge. The
Visiting Fellow will be expected to reside in Cambridge during the
appointment and to do some work with students in the Faculty. Applicants
are invited to provide a curriculum vitae and to write (less than 500
words) suggesting how they would like to use the Fellowship, but are asked
NOT to send copies of their published work at this stage. Applications
(ten copies) should be sent to The Secretary of the Judith E. Wilson Fund
Committee, Faculty of English, 9 West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DP. The closing
date for applications is 20th April.
