Strathclyde was also asked for this information by the Sunday Times (which we did not feel able to provide)

Subject: Sunday Times quest for data
Our press office have just been contacted by the Sunday Times who are
asking for the figure 'leave (no return)' from the HEFCE progression
statistics.
Are we alone in this or have others been contacted?
Is the ST trying to get at this data by the back door because HEFCE are
rightly treating it as confidential until corrected?
I understand HEFCE will eventually publish the data. Our response to
HEFCE was to request some changes to the search profile before
publication because the existing profile lost students who changed
domiciles, and treated them as non-returners.
