CANADIAN SOCIETY FOR THE STUDY OF RHETORIC
Call for Papers
The Canadian Society for the Study of Rhetoric will be holding its annual
conference in Ottawa, Ontario, from May 27-29, 1998, in conjunction with
the Canadian Humanities and Social Sciences Congress. We invite proposals
from rhetorically-oriented researchers working or studying in any one or
more of the following areas:
… rhetorical theory and criticism
… history of rhetoric
… political and social discourse
… sociolinguistics and discourse analysis
… composition theory and pedagogy
… professional communication
… semiotics
… media and communications
… critical theory and literature
The presentations at the 1998 CSSR Conference will be no longer than 20
minutes, and selected papers will be published in the bi-annual CSSR
proceedings. English and French proposals in all areas of the theory,
practice, and history of rhetoric are welcomed. Proposals, limited to one
single-spaced page, may be submitted not later than January 32, 1998, by
