If Kristine and others are still wondering about inexpensive ways of sending
money from the US to Italy [or almost anywhere else], the best resource I've
found is a company called Ruesch International, which will produce checks in
foreign currencies for a very small service charge ($2.00, the last time I
tried). Their address is 700 Eleventh Street, NW, Washington, DC
2001-4507; toll free phone 800 424-2923.
