The thread about barnacle geese reminds me of a question I wanted to
ask. I've read in two or three non-academic, non-authoritative sources
that the wild goose was (is?) used by the Celtic church as symbol for
the Holy Spirit. However I couldn't find any information for this
statement in a scholarly source. Has anybody heard of the wild goose
as Holy Spirit? Thanks.
