FYI
I came across the Government Information Locator Service (GILS)
which is using META tags in a similar way to DC.
Another crosswalk ??
Some info. from Philip Coombs at Washington State Library:
>Andrew, there is a growing pool of tagged pages at Washington State's
>government server, "www.wa.gov".
>Specifically you can try:
>Many countries (including Canada:
>http://www.intergov.gc.ca/catalogue/subject.html) have adopted the GILS
>format and attribute set. The next hurdle is to link these servers
>using Z39.50 for multiple-server searching.
>Link to our main GILS home page to obtain META templates, controlled
>vocabularies (used in one field), and other goodies...
>Search GILS at: http://wagils.wln.com
The schema is defined as http://www.usgs.gov/gils/prof_v2.html#core
Elements include:
abstract
title
dateofLastModification
createDate
originator
medium
and many more
