Rebecca,
Some of proposals I've sent to the list have, directly or indirectly, responded
to some aspects of your document. One minor issue is the use of capitalisation
in element/sub-element names.
I've been meaning to say something about DC.language. I don't think my
advocacy of RFC 1766 is very far from your position, though you list RFC 1766
as your fifth (and last) option. Once the LoC 3-letter scheme has become ISO
639-2, RFC 1766 will be replaced by a new RFC, which will state that tags are
to be interpreted as follows:
AAA is an ISO 639-2 tag
AA is an ISO 639-1 tag
AA-AA is a tag made up of an ISO 639-1 code plus an ISO 3166 code
x-AAAAAA is an experimental tag
and so on. So, I suggest that this offspring of RFC 1766 could be all things
to all people.
I'm copying this also to ([log in to unmask]), the author of RFC
1766, and to ([log in to unmask]), the IETF languages list.
