COPAC Update: New Libraries Available
COPAC is an internationally accessible catalogue giving unified access
to some of the largest university research library collections in the
UK and Ireland. A *new release* of COPAC has just been made available
containing a number of changes:
1. New libraries:
The online catalogues of two more libraries are now available on COPAC.
* The Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine
* The University of London Library
More library catalogues are to be added shortly.
2. Local data:
More local data is available eg. details of which branches of a library
have copies of a document.
3. Improved currency:
Update files are being added as they are supplied by the libraries,
ensuring the currency of the database. On the Web Interface a Library
Update page is changed automatically whenever new records are loaded
into COPAC, allowing you to check when records were last added for a
particular library.
4. Extended search facilities:
You can now search for: a specific library eg. Cambridge
a much wider range of languages
5. Web Interface only - Download record display:
When carrying out a Web Interface search you can now choose between
the usual Brief Display and a Download Display. The latter displays
100 records at a time, in a format designed for easy incorporation of
the records into personal bibliographic software. You can use your
browser's own download facility to save the records.
It is already possible to download records via email in the Text
Interface.
6. Searching COPAC
To access COPAC you can use the Web Interface at:
