Hello everyone! Permit me to introduce myself. I am a 1993 graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-Madison with the PhD in Italian Language and Literature
and a Film Studies minor.
My fully revised dissertation on Andrea da Barberino (the first monograph on
this late medieval/early Renaissance author) is now at press and should be out
later this year:
Andrea da Barberino and the Language of Chivalry, Univ. Press of Florida,
Gainesville, USA.
Since 1989 I have been actively publishing on medieval topics, especially the
works of Andrea such as the famous _Guerrino Meschino_. I have also announced
several manuscript discoveries of his works which brings the total mss. to over
70.
I have also presented conference papers on Dante, Boccaccio, women's studies,
Andrea, and chivalric literature at many conferences in the U.S. I have
contributed numerous encyclopedia articles to three works still in progress:
Medieval Italy: An Encyclopedia, Garland, forthcoming; Medieval Trade, Travel
and Exploration, ed. John Friedman, Garland, forthcoming; and Military Women
Worldwide, ed. Reina Pennington, Greenwood Press, late 1997.
I look forward to participating in this new on-line discussion group.
