If we place the qualifiers on the right (in CONTENT=...), we need to
distinguish between a "(" indicating the start of a qualifier name/value
pair and a "(" which happens to be the first character of the element value.
Four solutions are listed by Dave Beckett in <http://www.dstc.edu.au/DC4/straw/structure1.html>.
Here's a fifth, suggested by Martin Dürst. We think it makes the formal
syntax simpler:
If the first character of an element value is "(", then an empty
qualifier name/value pair must be placed before the element value.
Example:
<META NAME = "DC.publisher"
CONTENT = "(Type=Name) () (I think it is "Bloggs &
Bloggs" but I need to check this)">
