I am actually not a new member, as I have been receving mail from this
list for a number of months. I am teaching in the theology department at
St. Louis University. I generally teach the introduction to theology
course along with courses on Judaism, Christianity and Islam, and this
semester I have begun teaching a course on theology and the Holocaust. My
main interest is in friar-Jewish relations in the middle ages (I did post
a few months back an ad concerning the conference I am organizing for
October of this year on this theme at St. Louis University). I have
published a book and a few articles on a Spanish friar of the 15th
century, Alfonso de Espina. I continue to work on a critical edition of
the chapter on the Jews that I hope to complete this summer. I am
presently working on an article on his treatment of the Jews concerning
the end times and their acceptance, and eventual rejection of the
Antichrist, and final conversion. Anyone out there working in the area of
apocalypticism and the Jews? I tend to deal with theological
issues--since my STD is in theology from the Gregorian in Rome--and
Franciscans since I am a Conventual Franciscan Brother.
