I neglected to make clear that my suggestions were "background" on
Arianism. I leave suggestions regarding the Franks and Arianism to
others who know that topic better than I. Williams is clearly the
leading secondary study on 4th-c Arianism.
For background to the Franks you might consult Daniel Williams, _Ambrose
of Milan and the End of the Arian-Nicene Conflicts_ (Cambridge, 1995 or
1996). It's notes and bibliography will give you the basic literature on
Arianism in the Roman West in the 4thc. From there you will need to pick
up the story among the Germans.
