I have recently bought an Spanish translation of Peter Abaelard's
"Dialogus"; it displays several images concerning medieval philosophy; on p.
226 can be seen B. Gozzoli´s "Triumph of St. Thomas", inspired (I think) in
Rome's depiction. But the text said: "A sus pies, humillado, se ve a un
filosofo que se creyo en un principio, era Averroes. En realidad es
Guillermo de Saint-Amour, teologo parisino opuesto a dominicos y franciscanos".
I confess I got perplexed with this new interpretation; does anyone
in this list know any serious reference to this?
