I have been trying to find out whether the dominicans had some form
of protector or defender at the papal court of Innocent IV during the
1240s. I know Hugh of St-Cher was appointed cardinal in 1244, but is
there any literature on him or anyone else bringing dominican
interests to Innocent's attention? All the basic literature doesn't
seem to want to talk about this, but I am sure I have not seen all
the relevant sources.
Any insights would be most welcome.
Cheers
Jim
