Being a devotee of the absurd, I find myself somewhat surprised to be
in agreement with Louise (by the way, anyone who has met her is fully
aware that she is far from, as she put it, "very dull"): limericks
appear to have taken over the list (sorry, Tim).
Whilst I am greatly in favour of croquet, frivolity, and useless
trivia -- and Latin limericks -- I miss the erudite discussion that
used to greet me when I logged on. Or maybe I'm just getting cranky
in my old age....
HEY GEORGE! What do you think? I reckon it's our most beloved and
right-well-trusty listowner's call.
By the way, I gave a paper on Abbess Heloise and the Paraclete
_Institutiones nostrae_ at the Ecclesiastical History Conference in
Canterbury last week; if anyone is interested, I'd be glad to ftp a
copy anywhere in the world
In all seriousness (!),
