RE: Copy of: Cost of disposal of clinical waste
>From Skill:
This is a situation we have not come across before. It does not seem
apppropriate to get the payment from the DSAs - I'm surprised the LEA has
agreed? The National Federation of Kidney Patients (01909-487795) said that the
Council have responsibility to remove the wast, but were not very helpful as to
who to would fund it.
I would assume it is a local health service responsibility, but the following
two organisations should be able to help confirm if this is the case:
- Community Health Council (see local phone book) - can advise about health
service responsibilities and help with complaints about services
- Patients' Association (0171-242 3460) - can advise about rights to health
services
I hope they can help
